In A Key to Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Stowe includes advertisements posted by men who have trained dogs to hunt down fugitive slaves. The advertisements and descriptions of the training process for these animals, shows the reader the horrors attached the recapturing fugitive slaves. Stowe received her information about the training of the dogs from a man in the South.
